It’s 100 degrees in New York City, and on Sunday I’ll head to Paris—where it’s meant to be about the same. Otherwise, this weekend we have Taylor and Travis’s rumored wedding (so many trucks unloading at MSG!), Fourth of July festivities, more from Wimbledon, and the kick-off to couture.

Taylor and Travis
In this instance, the will-they-or-won’t-they chatter is less about actually walking down the aisle than whether that aisle is the Knicks’ home court. According to virtually all sources, the Swift–Kelce nuptials will take place this Fourth of July weekend in New York City, possibly at Madison Square Garden and possibly with up to 1,000 guests in attendance. Here’s a look back at some other chic events that have taken place at MSG (Sly Stone’s sequinned wedding for one), as well as our best guesses for what Taylor will wear.

Invite-Only
It was such a treat to interview Olivia Wilde for the podcast and talk about her new film The Invite. It’s a chamber drama that’s a bit Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? but wackier, and all four leads are excellent in different ways. Olivia and I also discussed the gendered double standard when it comes to dating a younger partner (ahem), and how shooting The Invite like a play, chronologically and in one location, changed its tone.

Celine Dream
The inimitable Hilton Als, The New Yorker’s revered theater critic, wrote our favorite front row diary to date this week, recounting his trip to the universally adored Celine men’s show. I loved reading Als’s take on why fashion matters and its similarity to the theater: “Both belong to what the French call le spectacle. Fashion opens our eyes to the now—to bodies moving through space, inventively dressed. Actors on stage dress for the character, of course, but like fashion, they are showing us what we humans look like and how we affect one another. Fashion never fails to open my eyes to color and form.” You can hear more about the men’s shows (plus the Jacquemus sailboats!) on Tuesday’s episode of the podcast, featuring Nicole Phelps, Max Berlinger, and Luke Leitch.

Low Country Boil
I joined my family in South Carolina last weekend and had the best time. The ocean felt like a bathtub; we were spotting dolphins like they were squirrels in Central Park; and on a boat tour through the saltgrass marshes, we saw magenta-colored spoonbills (colored pink from all the shrimp they eat), stone crabs, and egrets.
I also ate some fantastic meals—most notably at Vern’s in Charleston—and delighted in one of the best ice cream treats I can remember having: a trompe l’oeil chicken drumstick that was actually vanilla ice cream covered in cornflakes.

NYC Summer Exhibitions
In his kindergarten class, Arthur makes “beautiful junk”—sculptures crafted from recycling the kids are encouraged to bring from home. This meant we were both very excited to see the Marcel Duchamp exhibition at MoMA; Artie particularly enjoyed the hat rack hanging from the ceiling that cast spidery shadows. (We also loved the “Frida and Diego” show downstairs.) My next stops are the tarot exhibit at the Morgan Library and the Giacometti sculptures inhabiting the Temple of Dendur for the summer.

French Connection
I’m headed to Paris on Sunday evening after spending the Fourth of July in Connecticut with my pyro son, who is obsessed with finding someone setting off fireworks. The temperature in Paris will be 100 degrees again (just like in New York City at the moment!), and this is affecting my packing, as I want to prioritize fabrics that can handle perspiration gracefully. For my red-eye I will likely be wearing a pair of loose pants and a striped Breton tee, but I love the Shopping team’s story on Vogue editors’ travel style.
Follow all the couture updates on the Vogue app—I’m even hosting a group chat to answer any pressing couture queries!

Shore Thing
We’re officially in the swing of beach season and the spring collections met the moment with more marine-themed accessories than usual—from clam-shaped Tory Burch pendants to a Chloé gastropod minaudière and coral-accented Chanel sandals. We took our favorite thalassic pieces to Greenpoint Fish & Lobster Co. in Brooklyn, and Matin Zad’s photos are a little bit spooky and a lot of fun.

Can You Feel the Heat?
We did a great edit of what Vogue editors are wearing to withstand summer in the city. For me, a foolproof outfit has been a statement skirt with a white shirt and high-heeled flip flops—because yes, you can wear flip-flops in the city! (I also love a spare sweater for colder office climes.) I put that look to the test for Monday’s Marc Jacobs show at the New York Public Library, where the sheer tights and brights were Bob Fosse-inspired and maybe not exactly ideal for summer in the city, but very All That Jazz.

Born to Adorn
What better way is there to celebrate American style on the eve of the 250th anniversary than by highlighting Native jewelry designs? Christian Allaire explored the meaning and variety of Native earrings in particular, gathering pieces variously made from tiered dentalium shells and porcupine quills.
