This week, I head off on vacation with my family in the Lot region of France (no Malle Wear next week!). Before leaving, I attended Teen Vogue Fest, survived a Scooby-Doo escape room, got the chance to see the flags fly at our event with the CFDA and America250 at Rock Center, and was delightfully horrified at The Shards premiere.

Flag Day
To help celebrate the country’s semiquincentennial, Vogue and the CFDA tapped more than 120 American designers to design their own state flags (which appeared in our Summer issue). It was a delight to see them flapping away in Midtown at the big unveiling this week at Rockefeller Center. (In fact, I was in the same area 24 hours earlier for a thrilling—and challenging!—Scooby-Doo-themed escape room.) For the occasion, I wore a gold lamé Michael Kors skirt set that matched the Prometheus statue at the head of the ice skating rink.

Well-Suited
I interviewed Hannah Einbinder for the podcast ahead of her new film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, arriving in theaters next week. As a huge Hacks head, I was so excited to chat with Hannah about everything from the Westwood California Pizza Kitchen to being a magician snob.

More Than Zero
After the flags event on Monday night, I swooped down to Chelsea for the premiere of The Shards, the new Ryan Murphy adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s 2023 novel. The young cast looked so fresh and glamorous, I think the show is going to be a huge end-of-summer hit.
Ellis’s debut novel, Less Than Zero, is a character in The Shards and our summer book club pick, so Taylor Antrim interviewed BEE himself about the years surrounding its publication and overnight success. Book It!
My vacation reading list includes Less Than Zero, a galley of Rachel Cusk’s new novel Life of M, plus some Virginia Woolf, since we’ve all been talking about Clarissa, the new Mrs. Dalloway adaptation coming later this year. Heading into vacation is the perfect time to consult our Best Books of 2026 list, which Chloe Schama updates with religious devotion.

No-Hassle Tassels
When I went to India a few years ago, I came back with a whole trove of camel tassels that locals use to jazz up their dromedaries. (I hung them from my sconces and tied one to a basket bag.) Fortunately, the Vogue tassel edit gathers a selection of tassels intended to accessorize humans, and I’m inspired by the Attersee fringed belt and Le Sundial earrings.

Just Dotty
I love a polka dot for summer; I am always thinking of Julia Roberts at the polo match in Pretty Woman and the Princess of Wales at Wimbledon. In addition to the classic, I like the idea of a polka dot that isn’t so preppy—for instance, I love this black dot on brown by Proenza Schouler, and found a lot of other great spots in Vogue Shopping’s edit of the trend.

Straighten Up and Fly Right
Graham dresses my children like a tiny soccer team in matching sweatsuits when we travel and this is the first year they are carrying their own backpacks through the airport—a game changer. I wear La Ligne Colby pants and a Matteau striped Breton shirt with a thick, soft scarf to double as my Linus blanket in-air. The Vogue Shopping team rounded up the best summer travel outfits here.
